The SS20 collection is a personal one, designed and created by Pia while planning her wedding in Cyprus. Wedding ideas and design themes spoke to one another, resulting in a truly romantic collection that drew inspiration from the Greek deity Aphrodite, goddess of love, beauty, pleasure, passion and procreation.
According to one legend, Aphrodite was born from foaming waters surrounding Petra tou Romiou off the coast of Cyprus, inspiring sea-themed embroideries and pearl accents. Paintings of her (such as ‘Pygmalion et Galatée’ by Anne-Louis Girodet) informed the whimsical colour palette of soft blue, coral pink, jungle green and rich gold.
Naida 'Water Nymph'
A romantic twist twists on iconic Studio Pia styles, Nadia envelopes the body in bespoke coral and sea horse embroidery, transporting the wearer to the reef.
Familiar styles were given the goddess treatment with a lavish all-over embroidery inspired by the deep, trimmed in gloriously green peace silk satin. The Sirena range was the first to contain a bodysuit, the perfect way to showcase the marine embroidery.
Clea's bold hardware and seductive strapping returned in romantic coral pink, encapsulating the collections romantic feel.
Petra 'Rock of Aphrodite'
Inspired by Pia’s very own bespoke bridal bodysuit, and named after Aphrodite‘s birthplace, the Petra range was the perfect 'something blue'. Petra's silk panels and wearability as outerwear made the range a hit, and it has since gone on to be revived along side every collection since SS20.
Greta was our very first range of luxury accessories is designed to complement our lingerie sets or style into outerwear looks.
