MOODBOARD

The Gabrielle range draws inspiration from the intricate wicker works of Italian artist and designer Gabriella Crespi, best known for her sculptural furniture designs of the 1960s and 1970s. She was highly influenced by Le Corbusier and Frank Lloyd Wright, as well as by her lifelong love of nature.

In the 1960s, Crespi began collaborating with Maison Dior, designing their home and table accessories before going on to design their furniture. In 1970 Crespi began working with her daughter Elisabetta, collaborating to create a range of artisanally produced furniture, lighting, and decorative accessories, including her celebrated rattan pieces.
‘I couldn’t help but do it with rattan and bamboo, materials of which I’m very fond and that combine strength and flexibility, the warmth of mellow tones, and the ability to be run through by light,’ - Crespi
Inspired by Crespi's modular designs and repeating vine like shapes, Pia created a geometric wicker embroidery that frames every curve. Pairing the intricate design with our signature Mulberry peace silk, the Gabriella range embodies Crespi's love of combining the humble with the sophisticated.
