Introducing Cerelia | SS21

Introducing Cerelia, the third range from our Spring/Summer 21 'Wildflowers' collection.

Pia designed the SS21 collection from her London flat during the first pandemic lockdown, and soon after she discovered she was pregnant for the first time. Sheltering indoors combined with the excitement of becoming a mother had Pia feeling nostalgic for the lush gardens of her childhood, where she spent long summer days playing in nature.

Returning to creating from home also brought nostalgic feelings, reminding Pia of when she first started the brand four years ago; sewing, designing and even shipping orders from her spare bedroom. Feelings of nostalgia for the brand's beginnings, combined with the longing for the great outdoors resulted in a collection that connects wistful memories with the contemporary designer.

For SS21, Pia revisited some styles from our first collection, further developing our coveted Adria range, allowing us to bring it to a new audience. For those who have been with us from the beginning, you may also spot the influence of other previous ranges in Cerelia. The Liana Basque shows its influence the Cerelia Basque; the original Clea Harness Suspender shape can be seen in the Cerelia Harness Suspender and the Bella Quarter Cup is reimagined with our new harness strapping. Pairing our signature lush green silk with our updated shapes and a new bespoke botanical embroidery, Cerelia combines the old with the new for a range that is quintessentially Studio Pia.

Pia takes great pride in selecting the perfect name for each range. Cerelia is Latin for "Of the Springtime", conjuring up notions of new beginnings, longer days and verdant gardens in bloom, pairing perfectly with the ranges fresh and romantic feel — perfect for Valentine's Day.
